Fulton County Commissioner Bill Edwards will host a public meeting on three proposals to reshape Fulton County government at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Cliftondale Multipurpose Center Theater, 4645 Butner Road, College Park.

Republicans in the Legislature want to redraw commission districts, double the county’s property tax homestead exemption and make all new employees unclassified. They say the proposals will reform county government, while Democrats say they’re an attempt to seize power.
