The City of East Point City Council will conduct public hearings for the reading of the FY 2016 budget 6:30 p.m. Monday and June 24 at Jefferson Station, 1526 E. Forrest Avenue, 4th Floor and , East Point.

In an earlier budget presentation, Sharon Haynes, budget manager; Lolita Grant, finance director and Frederick Gardiner, city manager pointed out changes from the 2015 budget.

The proposed FY 2016 budget has decreased by nearly $3 million from a decrease in revenue as well as a decrease in expenditures. Revenue for 2016 is anticpated at $33,164,525 whereas revenue for 2015 is project to come in at $33,248, 220.

Anticipated expenditures for 2016 are at $127,616,663 and expenditures for 2015 are expected to come in at $132,630,576.
