Decatur has released a list of eight streets slated for milling and repaving in 2018, probably during the spring when the weather begins warming. Those streets, covering a total one mile:

*Eastland Drive from Willow Lane to city limits

*Pensdale Road from Willow to the city limits

*Kathryn Avenue from Coventry Road to Mockingbird Lane

*Bucher Drive from South Candler Street to Avery Street

*Jefferson Place from East College Avenue to Ansley Street

*McKoy Street from East Benson Street to the dead end

*East Lake Drive from Park Place to Second Avenue

* Minor patching on West Howard Avenue and Adair Street.

The project will cost $564,000 for milling — the grinding of 1½ inches from the top — repaving, repairing, new curb cuts, repainting and restriping crosswalks. The Georgia Department of Transportation is providing $168,331.93 as part of its Local Maintenance and Improvement Grant.

Assistant City Manager David Junger added that in the next couple weeks the city begins repairing sidewalks on both sides of Adams Street, from Hill Street to College Avenue, and near the square on North McDonough Street.
