“And that big American flag, it came down that field, and we all stood toes-out on the field and recognized and respected the American flag and the national anthem.”

So said Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones after his team briefly knelt before Jordin Sparks' performance of the "Star-Spangled Banner" at Monday Night Football. The team then rose and, standing, both the Cowboys and the Arizona Cardinals locked arms in a show of unity as Sparks sang.

In his 20th tweet on the topic since Saturday, President Donald Trump said early today: "But while Dallas dropped to its knees as a team, they all stood up for our National Anthem. Big progress being made-we all love our country!"

Six minutes before that one, however, the president also noted: "The booing at the NFL football game last night, when the entire Dallas team dropped to its knees, was loudest I have ever heard. Great anger."
