Gwinnett County Commissioners voted Tuesday to authorize staff to submit the proposed 2015-2019 Consolidated Plan and the proposed amendments to the FY2015 Action Plan to the U. S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.

As a recipient of federal grant funds, Gwinnett is required by HUD to produce a consolidated plan every five years. The document serves as the application for funding to assist low-income individuals and/or families. The plan was developed to identify and address housing, community development, and homeless needs. Additional goals include the reduction of substandard housing in the county and provision of fair housing choices.
