"Barbie Bandit" Ashley Miller is a free woman again.
Miller, 22, first made headlines in 2007 as part of a duo that robbed a bank inside a Cobb County grocery store. After nearly 20 months in state prison, Miller was released Jan. 12, 2010. Part of Miller's sentence also included eight years' probation.
But Miller, of Powder Springs, was arrested Oct. 31 after a fight outside a Gwinnett County bar. Miller was charged with battery following a fight she and another woman had with a third woman in the parking lot of Club Bella, a nightclub near Duluth, police said. She pleaded guilty to the charge Nov. 5.
Miller's arrest in October violated her probation. After serving jail time in Gwinnett County, Miller was transported to the Cobb County jail, where she booked in Jan. 14, according to booking records. She was released March 3 after serving 48 days in the Cobb jail.
Miller and Heather Lyn Johnston, both Gwinnett County high school graduates, drove to Cobb County in February 2007 and robbed a bank inside a Kroger grocery store. Surveillance video later showed the two wearing stylish sunglasses and laughing as they stole nearly $11,000 from a bank teller, who was later determined to be part of the heist.
The teens then went shopping and got new hairdos, using their own names, before being caught and arrested. Johnston's sentence included probation, but not prison.
