The McDonough City Council voted at its March 18 regular meeting to approve a zoning modification and variance for a 23.3-acre tract on the Bridges Road corridor between the Hampton Street and McDonough Parkway corridors, increasing the density threshold from eight to 12 dwelling units per acre.
The request was approved with additional conditions that include a maximum of 250 units overall and a minimum of 25 percent brick on the structures themselves. The applicant addressed the council and gave a PowerPoint presentation with photographs of a project that similar to what is begin proposed, but there were no comments for or against the petition during the public hearing.
All six council members present voted in favor.
