The Alpharetta City Council has approved a $124,581 bid to construct spectator seating on the slope of the lower multipurpose field at Webb Bridge Park.

The Department of Recreation and Parks had put out a request for proposals in July for spectator seating for about 60 to 100 people, constructed of concrete, aluminum, natural grass or stone; with separation between home and visiting attendees; and steps or a ramp connecting the seating area to a pavilion at the top of the slope.

Three proposals were submitted. Ed Castro Landscape Inc. submitted the winning plan for seating consisting of a series of retaining walls, veneered with flagstone, to create multiple grass terraces.

Weather permitting, construction should take 60 to 90 days.
