The University of Georgia Athens campus will close early at 3:30 p.m. Friday.

The closing includes all classes and activities.

The Gwinnett, Griffin, Buckhead and Tifton campuses of UGA will make individual announcements regarding their inclement weather operations. UGA will reevaluate conditions conditions in the morning and will modify plans if these conditions necessitate an earlier closing time. UGA will provide updates as conditions warrant at emergency.uga.edu.

It joins Georgia State and other metro and north Georgia colleges and universities who are closing early today.

The governor and mayor of Atlanta also called for everyone to try to be home before 4 p.m. Friday.
