Where’s the party?
According to college students, not at the University of Georgia.
The former party capital of the country didn’t even crack the top 20 among party schools in the latest round of college rankings this year.
That ranking is just one of several included in the 25th annual "Best Colleges" guidebook compiled by The Princeton Review and released this week. Students at 381 top colleges were surveyed to rate their schools on a variety of topics. Along with the "Best 381 Colleges" listing, the guidebook includes ranking lists of the top 20 colleges in 62 categories ranging from financial aid to best campus food and political leanings. Colleges were scored on the survey responses of 143,000 students.
Just six years ago, UGA scored the top spot on the The Princeton Review's Best Party School list, prompting a different kind of school spirit from students gleefully reporting the results on social media. By last year, the party was losing steam and UGA ranked 8th on the list.
The University of Wisconsin-Madison took top honors in the category this year.
Drinking aside, in addition to UGA, several other Georgia schools made the list of 381 top colleges including Agnes Scott, Wesleyan and Spelman colleges, along with Emory, Georgia Tech, and Mercer universities.
