Fulton deputy superintendent attends FCC meeting on education in the digital age

Fulton County Schools deputy superintendent of academics Scott Muri participated in a September meeting with Julius Genachowski, chairman of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), and other leaders education and technology and policy leaders at the headquarters of Discovery Communications in Silver Spring, Md., to talk about the future of education in the digital age. Dr. Muri was one of only five school district representatives from across the country selected to participate in the meeting. Earlier this year, FCC Chairman Genachowski and Secretary of Education Arne Duncan jointly unveiled a five-year challenge and the “Digital Textbook Playbook” to help transform American classrooms into effective digital learning environments.
