Fulton County Health Department is offering back-to-school immunizations for students through Friday, August 19. Immunizations for school children are required by Georgia law.
Vaccinations are given on a first-come, first-serve basis from 8:30 a.m. until 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday only at the College Park and North Fulton Regional Health Centers and anticipates vaccinating more than 2,000 students.
Families may pay for the immunizations and required certificates using cash or credit/debit cards. Medicaid and private insurance are accepted. Information on which vaccines are required at a particular age can be found here.
To make immunization appointments run smoothly, parents should:
• Bring their children to the clinic for immunizations and also bring them back when they are coming to pick up immunization certificates. Sometimes immunizations need to be updated.
• Bring photo identification for the parents and identification for the children.
• Bring your insurance or Medicaid cards.
• Bring proof of income, if uninsured. Sliding scale fees are available.
• Please be prepared for a two-hour appointment time.
New 7th Grade Immunization Requirements
Georgia's immunization requirements for children attending seventh grade were revised to align with the recommendations from the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP). Since July 1, 2014, all children born on or after January 1, 2002, who are attending seventh grade, and children who are new entrants into a Georgia school in grades eight through twelve must have received one dose of Tdap vaccine and one dose of meningococcal conjugate vaccine.
