Atlanta Public Schools will begin enrolling students in coming weeks, including piloting an online enrollment system July 6 to 10, which can sign up new students in minutes.

The pilot program will be available in English and Spanish and will allow parents to fill out their child’s enrollment information and upload documents to create a preliminary record. The system will determine the student’s neighborhood school and forward the application directly to the school or enrollment site.

Parents can participate in the online enrollment pilot by visiting http://www.atlanta.k12.ga.us/Page/46037 and clicking the online enrollment link.

Parents and guardians may begin enrolling student by visiting the APS Center for Learning and Leadership, 130 Trinity Avenue, 2nd Floor in Atlanta. Parents can also start the enrollment process online to help shorten their in-person visit to the central office or school, which is still required for APS staff to verify the student’s birth certificate and social security card documents and finalize enrollment.

Parents will need to present residency documents and other required forms during this visit.

Registration and enrollment for the 2015-2016 school year also will be available at the APS Back-to-School Bash from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday, July 25, at the Atlanta Metropolitan State College Easley Conference Center at 1630 Metropolitan Parkway in Atlanta.

The first day of school for APS students is Wednesday, August 5.
