At least 10 people reportedly were shot near the 700 block of Canal Street in New Orleans about 3:25 a.m. Sunday, according to the New Orleans Police Department.
Two people reportedly are in critical condition.

Officers were on the scene of the shooting, and none of them were injured.
One suspect was detained near the scene, according to the New Orleans Police Department, but no arrests have been made in the ongoing investigation.

The police department said there are “multiple victims.”

Superintendent of Police Shaun Ferguson said five people were taken to University Medical Center and five were brought to Tulane Medical Center.
