Map: Luxury apartments get lucrative tax breaks

The Development Authority of Fulton County has finalized deals that allow tax breaks to developers of 10 luxury apartment complexes in the county’s toniest areas since January 2012. The value of those breaks, along with tax abatements it granted for two pricey student housing projects not on this map, is at least $64.5 million, according to a conservative analysis by the AJC. The authority has ther deals in the works, including at least three high-rise towers in Midtown: Atlanta House; a project tentatively called 33 Peachtree Place; and a tower near the 12th and Midtown development near the Woodruff Arts Center.
