The 18-year-old mother accused of using cellophane and packing tape to restrain her toddler has been charged with an additional felony, Hall County court officials said Tuesday.

Grace Love An was arrested Nov. 11 after a locksmith spotted her 16-month-old son lying in her car's backseat with cellophane and packing tape wrapped around his mouth, hands and feet, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported.

An was charged with first-degree cruelty to children, false imprisonment and reckless conduct, the Hall County Sheriff’s Office said. This week, the reckless conduct charge was upgraded to aggravated assault, the Magistrate Court clerk said.

All three charges against An are felonies. The case has been bound over to Superior Court, but has not been presented to a grand jury.

An has been held at the Hall County jail since the night of her arrest. Her son was treated at a local hospital and placed in the custody of the Division of Family and Children’s Services, investigators previously said.
