With Christmas and New Year’s in the rear view, Avondale Estates officials are reminding residents that it’s time to remove lights and decorations on public property by Jan. 15, according to a press release.

Trees on the verge (the area between the road and sidewalk) are owned and maintained by the city of Avondale Estates. While decorating them with lights and ribbon is permitted during the holiday season, residents are asked to please remember to remove these decorations by January 15.

Lights and other decorations left on these trees after this time will be removed by Avondale Estates Public Works crews. Removed lights and other decorations will not be saved for retrieval.
