When Breyln Bowman was 13, she decided she would save herself until marriage. She even promised her pastor father, Dr. Mike Freeman, that she would maintain her purity.
She presented a certificate of purity to her father.
The certificate reads:
"On the 10th of May 2006, I, Brelyn Freeman, made a vow to glorify God in my body and spirit which are God's because I have been bought with a price (Jesus). I have kept this commitment and present this certificate to my father Dr. Michael A. Freeman to show him I have honored God and my earthly father in my body by maintaining my purity."
The certificate was signed by Brelyn's gynecologist.
Brelyn and members of her family posted photos and messages on social media about the certificate, garnering tons of comments on the posts.
"Who knew that a pic like this would get so much negativity," her father wrote.
Some commenters have praised Brelyn for waiting, and others have criticized the public posting of what they say should have been a private moment.
