Beans or no beans might be one of the fiercest debates of the past couple of centuries.

We’re talking, of course, about chili.

The International Chili Society defines "traditional red" chili as: "any kind of meat or combination of meats cooked with red chili peppers, various spices and other ingredients. Beans and pasta are not allowed."

"Homestyle" chili, however, is "any kind of meat or combination of meats and/or vegetables cooked with beans, chili peppers, various spices and other ingredients. Beans are required."

Chili can be red, white or green, and made with beef, turkey, bison or no meat at all. However you prefer it, you likely have a favorite place to grab a bowl when you don’t feel like cooking up a pot.

This week’s Best of Atlanta poll asks: Who makes the best chili in metro Atlanta?
