History of the Masonic Hall

Roswell Methodist Church occupied the building for most of the time from 1859 until 1920.
During that period, however, Union troops took over the church during the Civil War.
The building was the site of a cotton seed warehouse and a car dealership before it was purchased by the Masons in 1952.
Its stucco exterior was added about 1973.
The land was donated to the church by a member of the founding family of Roswell.
