Filming for season three of the hit AMC series "Walking Dead" will begin next week in Coweta County.

The horror show, which features humans trying to survive a zombie apocalypse, will begin shooting Monday morning. Much of the action will take place in Senoia.

Stalwart Films official Mike Riley told county commissioners that filming will take place on Turkey Creek Road near the fire department, at Sportsman’s Deer Cooler in Haralson and at a house in Turin, The Citizen.com website reported. The production company has asked to close Reese Road between McIntosh Trail and Odom Road, the website reported.

Riley said the production will require nine days of filming per episode and will take place Mondays through Fridays. Production will continue through November, he said.

The final episode of season two was shot at Elders Mill, a historic Coweta County landmark that has become somewhat of a tourist attraction for fans of the show.

Don Brandenburg, who owns the property, told WAGA-TV that people have been climbing the fence to photograph the old mill dam.

Brandenberg said there are “no trespassing” signs posted on the property, but he doesn't really mind the tourists.

“If people do come in, it’d be great if they would contact us," he told the station. "My number is on the fence. It would be helpful. Let me know and I’ll let them in.”

He also warned that while the property doesn't have any zombies that he knows of, there are other scary creatures on the site: snakes.
