A nearly four-months old police report in which one of the “Real Housewives of Atlanta” alleges she was choked by a castmate has surfaced -- just in time for the latest season of the popular reality series.
Kim Zolciak told an Atlanta police officer that NeNe Leakes, formerly a close friend, strangled her during a heated exchange while filming a scene near Atlantic Station. Two witnesses observed the altercation, according to the report filed on April 15, and both confirmed Zolciak’s account.
The responding officer contacted a criminal investigator, who advised Zolciak to file a warrant for Leakes’ arrest at the Fulton County courthouse.
Zolciak’s publicist told “Entertainment Tonight” the incident is “a very serious matter that is still under investigation.”
Violence is a very serious issue and we are not going to be taking this incident lightly,” the publicist said. “Mrs. Leakes needs obvious therapy for her apparent anger management issues.”
In his report, Ofc. R. J. Byers said he was unable to locate Leakes. Byers was off Monday and could not be reached for comment.
Melodrama is a staple of the “Real Housewives” shows, and the Atlanta episodes have been particularly rife with conflict. Commercials for the second show of Season 2, premiering Thursday, tease a hair-pulling, expletive-laden tussle between aspiring crooner Zolciak and Leakes, her harshest musical critic.
