A suspected member of an Ontario terror cell who was arrested on Thursday appeared as a contestant on "Canadian Idol" in 2008, the Toronto Star reported.
Khuram Sher failed to impress judges during his appearance on the talent show. He wore traditional Pakistani garb as he performed robotic dance moves and a moonwalk and performed a song by Canadian pop star Avril Lavigne.
He was detained on Thursday, a day after two other suspects were arrested in Ottawa.
The Royal Canadian Mounted Police said the three men were involved in a conspiracy to commit “a violent terrorism attack.”
A police statement said the three suspects had been charged with violations of Canada’s Anti-Terrorism Act.
"It is alleged that these individuals had both the capacity and the intention to carry out a terrorist attack, making them a serious threat to the Canadian public," the statement said.
