A new show from the creator of "Cavalia," the highly produced equine/acrobatics show that drew large crowds here in fall 2009, will come to Atlanta starting Dec. 7 at Midtown site soon to be announced and under a white tent twice as large as the original.
“We’ve created an even larger big top to allow the horses and artists to play, run, dance, jump and twirl around to their hearts’ content," said creator Normand Latourelle, one of the original forces behind Cirque du Soleil.
The still-to-be-titled show will feature nearly 70 horses, with some scenes featuring as many as 40 on stage at the same time, and 50 acrobats, aerialists, musicians and riders.
The production employs advanced multimedia technology to evoke scenes of vast natural wilderness. "Human and horse have become partners and share a unique bond as they gather in a world of natural wonders," according to a release.
The show will make its first U.S. stop here after its Montreal premiere, with a run through Jan. 8. The original "Cavalia," however, was extended five times.
