We finally learned the truth about Gareth and the gang: they eat people! And in this case, they barbecued and ate Bob's left leg. Yum! (#Bobeque)

With everyone reunited and a few newcomers as well, dynamics have shifted.

Tara is accepted into the group - even Maggie - despite her ties to the Governor. Carol is accepted back as well from a very grateful Rick in a more powerful, respected position. Sasha and Bob have the hots for each other and can't keep off each other. This level of happiness will not be rewarded. Rick warns his son Carl to never feel safe, to always be on guard though Carl believes the group is strong and can overcome fear.

Abraham convinces Rick to go to D.C. with them to save the world though he wanted to rest up and get some supplies first.

Plus, Carol and Daryl find a car - just in case. And when Daryl sees the car that kidnapped Beth, the just in case is now. They decide to chase.

And finally, Bob stupidly opts for some alone time (to cry???) and gets bonked on the head by Gareth's crew. (Those are the folks that Daryl sensed the night before.). And we know what happens to his leg. Dinner!

That was the big news of the night. And in the trailers, we see Gareth battling Rick next week.

Here's Gareth's speech to Bob. Yes, bad guys like to explain their intentions to their victims on TV shows:

"These aren't things we want to do. These are things we gotta do. You and your people took away our home. That's fair play. Now we're out here like everybody else trying to survive. And in order to do that, we have to hunt. It didn't start that way - eating people. It evolved into that. We evolved. We had to. Now we're devolved into hunter. I told you. I said it. I can't go back. I just hope you understand that nothing is happening to you is personal. Yah... you put us in this situation and it's almost kind of  cosmic justice to be you. We would have done this to anybody. At the end of the day, no matter how much we hate this ugly business, a man's gotta eat."

Then the kicker:

"If it makes you feel any better, you taste much better than we thought you would."

We are also introduced to Gabriel - the wimpy, scared but awfully lucky preacher - who harbors secrets, of course. He is trying to avoid four walkers on top of a rock. Rick's gang dispenses with them. Rick is naturally suspicious of the guy.

"I'm a sinner. I sin almost every day but I confess them to God, not strangers," Gabriel tells Rick, who does not trust him.

Gabriel seems self-righteous about never killing a walker or any human being for that matter. And he has a poor sense of humor. He said the church had just done a canned food collection so he was able to live off that for a long time, plus some nearby homes. He avoided a place in town with food because it had walkers in the way - including what we learn, his lady friend. So that's where they go to get their supplies.

Seeing his lady friend in very bloated, screwed up zombie form, Gabriel almost dies in her hands. But Rick saves his life.

This is also a rare time when the characters react to walker "odor," thanks to the rank water the walkers are in. Or as Bob notes: "If a sewer could puke, this is what it'd smell like."

Walker death count: at least 9. Four rock-climbing ones who wanted to eat Gabriel to five more in the watery storeroom, including Gabriel's lady friend who freaked him out.

Last week's ratings: 22.3 million, DVR+3. In other words, huge.
