After four weeks off the air, Stephen "Steak" Shapiro returned on air at 93.7/680 The Fan today, fully recovered from vocal polyp removal surgery.

The Front Row - which aired today from 9 a.m. to noon and also includes Sandra Golden and Brian Finneran - welcomed him back today. He had been told by doctors to stay off the air for four weeks and he reluctantly obliged. He had felt pain in his throat in mid August and had the nodules removed in early September.

His voice didn't sound quite as raspy post surgery.

"So great to be back on the air," Shapiro said on air. "Thanks for all the good wishes over the last few weeks and me get healthy and back on the air."
