An Atlanta TV producer created a Doritos ad that is vying for one of two spots during next month's Super Bowl and $1 million.
The ad, one of five in the running, features a boss who believes either an ostrich or a human had eaten all the Doritos in the break room. The twist: the ostrich didn't do it - and the human blames him. Here's the video:

Eric Haviv of Atlanta-based FUGO Studios put this ad together. Haviv, 30, is a Dunwoody native and still lives there.
"I've always loved animal humor and office humor," he said. "I decided to combine the two."
He found ostriches especially funny animals so he went to Bird Brain Ostrich Farm in North Carolina. The ostriches would not cooperate with the green screen he had brought so his company had to digitally insert the birds into the ad. He used a local professional actor Robin Bloodworth to play the boss and his non-acting roommate and attorney Brett Friedman to be the Doritos-obsessed worker. Final cost of the video: $800 (not counting all the free labor.)
You can vote until January 29 at www.doritos.com. Stan Lee, former CEO and chair of Marvel Comics, was one of the folks who helped pick the final five and called each of the finalists.
Win or lose, Haviv gets to attend the game Feb. 2 in East Rutherford, N.J. and watch the game from a private luxury suite.
Haviv said his production company, in its fourth year, has done a lot of music videos but is trying to break corporate advertising. This Doritos ad and all the publicity it's creating should help his company get new clients.
Haviv beat out thousands of submissions from 30 countries. The early leader in video views is from Thomas Noakes of Sydney, Australia, whose ad received a raft of early publicity. It's called "The finger cleaner" and is cringe worthy gross:

Last year, a Decatur man Ben Callner's "Goat 4 Sale" ad was one of the two that aired during the Super Bowl. It was considered one of the favorites in several post-Super Bowl polls. Re-live it again here:
