Four of the five candidates who finished out of the runoff in last Tuesday's GOP primary for Georgia's 3rd Congressional District have thrown their somewhat meager support behind former Drew Ferguson in July's runoff.
Ferguson finished second to state Sen. Mike Crane, R-Newnan, by 93 votes. Businessman Jim Pace finished third, about 2,000 votes out of the running for the runoff. Pace, we are told, is visiting with friends and family and has yet to decide whether to endorse.
But, Ferguson's camp will announce today that the four other candidates in the race -- Chip Flanegan, Richard Mix, Sam Anders, and Rod Thomas -- have endorsed their guy.
While none of the vanquished four received more than 10 percent of the May 24 vote, Ferguson's team points out that when added to Ferguson's 26.77 percent, the former mayor of West Point climbs above 50 percent of the total primary vote.
We've reached out to Crane's camp for a response and will update this post when it comes.

"We believe the distinctions in this race have always been clear, now it is even more vivid for the voters to see. It is and will continue to be us against the big government and big business insiders which stand contrary to virtually every principle of freedom and limited constitutional government that we cherish. They pretended to be something else, now they show their true colors. The establishment is afraid of Liberty because they can't control it. For freedom minded Georgians, the choice has never been so clear."
