[No, Dragon Con isn't a music event - though there is certainly some of that - but since I’m a fan of the event, this blog has served as the landing page for DC content the past couple of years. ]

The Dragon Con question I must get answered this weekend: What are Joey Fatone and Chris Kirkpatrick doing here?

[Answer that I learned Saturday afternoon: Hosting the Masquerade Costume Contest at 8:30 p.m. Sunday in the Hyatt Regency Centennial Ballroom.]

The former N’ Sync-ers were spotted in the Walk of Fame autograph room Friday evening (sorry, no photos allowed in there unless you pay) chatting with some fans, some of whom possibly paid the $40 they were asking for an autograph.

On Sept. 10, Fatone is opening a hot dog stand called Fat One's in Orlando's Florida Mall and it appeared he and Kirkpatrick, who has done some voice work on Nickelodeon's "The Fairly Odd Parents," had some swag from the new joint for sale. Hey, no judgment from the person who will gladly stand in line to meet Gillian Anderson on Sunday.

Dragon Con, which is celebrating its 30th year, is expected to draw about 70,000 people to downtown Atlanta this weekend. ( Here are some of the marquee players this year .)

For the first time in its history, the annual Dragon Con parade will be televised live at 10 a.m. Saturday on the CW and rebroadcast at 8 p.m.

We'll have an array of coverage on AJC.com , AccessAtlanta.com and our social media accounts this weekend, but for now, here are some sights from Friday night.
