T.I. has bounced into the social media fray to defend Snoop Dogg after President Donald Trump slammed the rapper on Twitter because of his controversial video, "Lavender."

In the clip, Snoop points a toy gun at a clown-faced Trump doppelganger named Ronald Klump. A sign reading “bang” pops out after Snoop pulls the trigger.

Trump lashed out on Twitter, suggesting that Snoop has a failing career and that if he pretended to shoot President Obama in a video, the result would be "jail time."

T.I. apparently isn't looking for an invite to the White House, as he posted a blistering, profanity-laden response on his Instagram account , referring to Trump as, among other things that aren't printable, a "Possum fur Wig wearing, Alternative fact, Atomic Dog diarrhea face…" T.I. continued with insults about Trump's presidency: "…continue to focus on dividing minorities, building barriers, alienating immigrants and f-in this country up like u been doin'."

On Wednesday evening, Common also spoke in defense of Snoop Dogg , saying that, "Hip-hop has always been about freedom of expression."
