The White House on Monday tried to swat away allegations that donors to the Clinton Foundation received special treatment from the State Department while Hillary Clinton was Secretary of State.
"I know there's been a lot of accusations made about this, but not a lot of evidence," said White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest.
"The President continues to be extraordinarily proud of the work that Secretary Clinton did," Earnest added during a regular briefing with reporters.
Pressed further to deny any appearance of wrongdoing, Earnest stuck with his statement.
"There's nobody that's marshaled any evidence to indicate this," said Earnest.
Clinton herself addressed the issue at her first stop in New Hampshire on Monday, telling reporters she expects to face "all kinds of distractions and attacks."
She said she was "ready for that."
Clinton also noted that she was taking a lot of jabs from Republicans who are either in the race, or thinking about running.
"I don't know what they would talk about if I wasn't in the race," Clinton said after an event in Keene, New Hampshire.
