The backlash in Republican circles against GOP frontrunner Donald Trump spread to more conservative circles, as Erick Erickson told Trump he was no longer welcome at a major political gathering this weekend in Atlanta, all a result of Trump's latest attack on Fox News anchor Megyn Kelly in the wake of this week's Republican debate in Cleveland.

"I have tried to give a great deal of latitude to Donald Trump in his run for Presidency," Erickson wrote on his Red State website early Saturday, but the conservative activist and talk radio show host said Trump's latest barrage against Kelly was "a bridge too far."

In an interview with CNN, Trump said of his clash with Kelly during this week's GOP debate that, "You could see blood coming out of her eyes. Blood coming out of her wherever."

"His comment was inappropriate," Erickson wrote.

But at least one GOP hopeful weighed in against Trump last night - Carly Fiorina.
