With Labor Day now in the rear view mirror, the pace seemed to quicken on Tuesday on the campaign trail, as Hillary Clinton went to Florida and Donald Trump stumped for votes in both Virginia and North Carolina, three of the key group of swing states that seem likely to decide the winner of the 2016 race for President.
Trump was focused on national security, as he did a town hall type of appearance in Virginia Beach, with friendly questions lobbed at him by retired Army General Michael Flynn, who neatly set up Trump for a few verbal shots at Clinton.
"Look, she's a disaster in so many different ways," Trump said to cheers.
"I don't really think she believes in herself," Trump added.
Down at the University of South Florida in Tampa, Clinton was returning the verbal brickbat, as she described Trump's world view as, "so dire, so dark, so divisive, so dangerous."
"We're going to stand up for American values," Clinton said to cheers.
"We we're going to work with our allies, not insult them," she added, as she said the voters have a very important choice to make on national security, labeling his campaign "an insult."
Clinton and Trump will both be focused on 'swing states' for the this week - as Clinton hits Ohio, Florida, Pennsylvania, Iowa and North Carolina.
Trump also has those same five states on his schedule; a pretty big indicator of where the two sides think the key battlegrounds are located.
Earlier in the day, Clinton again took questions from reporters on her campaign plane, this time for close to 25 minutes, as she was asked about her emails and more.
Clinton again alluded to her belief that she has been under fire from Republicans for many years.
"I believe I have created so many jobs in the sort of conspiracy theory machine factory because honestly, they never quit," Clinton said.
