From Meredith, New Hampshire -
Ron Paul came to a resort hotel on Lake Winnipesaukee with a mission, find some undecided voters and bring them on board for his campaign, as polls suggest he remains the closest pursuer to Mitt Romney.
With a crowd that filled a conference room at a plush resort about 75 miles north of Manchester, Paul dispensed with an opening statement and plunged straight into questions.
"Dr. Paul is surging," said one of Paul's backers who acted as the host of the event, lobbing a few softballs at the Texas Congressman before he opened up the floor to questions from the audience.
"I'm no longer undecided," one voter said, bringing smiles from Paul and his campaign brass.
"They are very, very scared," Paul said of his opponents, arguing that the other campaigns worry that Paul and his backers could be "dangerous" on Tuesday at the ballot box.
"I have such a strange and new idea; it's to obey the Constitution," Paul said to applause.
"Let your voice be heard," Paul implored his supporters.
While the turnout was good, it wasn't a tear-down-the-building-and-burn-it-down kind of crowd - and really - I saw a big turnout for Paul that had much more sizzle to it last week in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
But some polls show Paul's numbers bubbling up a bit, as he remains a strong second to Mitt Romney here in New Hampshire.
Surveys though last week in Iowa seem to have overstated Paul's poll numbers - we'll find out on Tuesday whether that's happening again in the Granite State.
