From Seneca, South Carolina -
The war of words escalated on Wednesday in the Republican race for President, as Donald Trump and Ted Cruz exchanged more verbal barbs, with Cruz revealing that Trump had officially threatened a lawsuit over an ad that Cruz is running on TV in the Palmetto State.
"He's been screaming, 'Liar! Liar! Liar!'" Cruz told reporters, as Cruz made public the details of a cease and desist letter from lawyers for Trump, who threatened to sue Cruz if an ad he is running in South Carolina was not taken off the air.
This is the ad that drew the legal fire of Trump's lawyers:
Cruz's response - go ahead and file suit.

Waving around the legal papers sent by Trump, Cruz ridiculed the GOP front runner, saying he won't be bullied.
"If you want to file a lawsuit challenging this ad, claiming it is defamation, go ahead an file the lawsuit," Cruz said.
Cruz also again raised the issue of Trump's past donations to Democrats, as the campaign had big poster boards printed up with a summary of Trump's political involvement with the other side of the aisle, tying it to the current vacancy on the U.S. Supreme Court.

"A vote for Donald Trump is a vote to erase the Second Amendment," Cruz warned, again charging that Trump will put liberals on the bench.
Before Cruz had launched his broadside, Trump was again attacking the Texas Senator in an event down near Hilton Head.
"Senator Cruz, he'll say anything," Trump told a group of local Republicans. "For instance, I'm very strong on the Second Amendment."
