The special committee in Congress investigating the 2012 Benghazi attacks has tentatively set a hearing with Hillary Clinton for the week of May 18, as the Republican chair of that panel continues to press the former Secretary of State for answers about both the attacks and her email practices at the State Department.
In a letter sent on Thursday to Clinton lawyer David Kendall, Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-SC) said he wants the prospective Democratic Party frontrunner to appear "as soon as is practicable."
"Unless we hear differently from you, the Committee will schedule a public hearing with Secretary Clinton in which to discuss ensuring the public record is complete the week of May 18," Gowdy wrote.
As Gowdy noted, Republicans don't believe that Clinton has turned over all relevant documents; making it uncertain if there really will be a hearing in the next month or so.

In case the Clinton team didn't know what queries would surface from Republicans, Rep. Gowdy included a list of 100 questions for the former Secretary of State:

Other questions included whether Clinton had used her personal email during her time as Secretary of State to email President Obama, and whether he had emailed her back.
Meanwhile, Democrats expressed dismay at reports that the Benghazi panel isn't expected to issue a final report until next year - in the midst of a Presidential election.
"What a coincidence," said Clinton's chief campaign spokesman Brian Fallon.
