In the last debate before the first votes are cast in both Iowa and New Hampshire, the Democratic Party front runners jabbed at each other throughout a lively Sunday night NBC debate in Charleston, South Carolina, as Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders dueled on guns, health care, and more.
There didn't seem to be any magic moments for either Clinton, Sanders or Martin O'Malley in this debate, though each side made the case for why their candidate did the best.
On health care, Clinton found fault with a new plan from Sanders - it had been unveiled just hours before the debate - which basically would shift the United States from the Obama health law into a single payer system - the goal for many Democrats.
Clinton and Sanders also clashed on guns; Clinton was ready for this moment, as she rattled off a host of examples of how Sanders had not voted the right way - in her opinion - on gun issues.
With two weeks to Iowa, and just over three weeks to New Hampshire, this was the last debate for the Democrats before those two key states.
Republicans will have two debates during that same time frame, January 28 in Iowa and February 6 in New Hampshire.
