This season, the eight No. 1-ranked teams entering the playoffs appear nearly invincible. Six are undefeated. The other two, Hapeville Charter and Eagle's Landing Christian, are defending champions that have lost only to larger schools. But in 2017, only two of the eight teams ranked No. 1 entering the playoffs won state titles. Those were Rome (AAAAA) and Eagle's Landing Christian (A private). None of the other six even made the finals. What were the six No. 1 teams that lost? Hints: They lost to McEachern in the second round, Coffee in the quarterfinals, Blessed Trinity in the second round, Calhoun in the semifinals, Hapeville Charter in the quarterfinals and Mount Zion (Carroll) in the quarterfinals. (Answer Tuesday)
