Houston Texans defensive end J.J. Watt has one again raised his fundraising goal for the city of Houston after receiving an overflow of donations over the past two days.

On Monday evening, Watt increased the fundraising goal to $1.5 million after contributors hit the $1 million mark.

As of Tuesday morning, nearly $1.3 million had been donated to Watt's YouCaring page.

"We just passed the $1 million mark which is phenominal," Watt said in a video posted on his social media pages. "Five dollars here, $10 there. It's just donations from all over. It's so crazy to watch so thank you guys."

Watt started the YouCaring page on Sunday with the initial goal of raising $200,000 for those in Houston affected by Hurricane Harvey and the resulting flooding.

The $200,000 goal was hit in less than two hours.

Watt said he's working to assure the money donated to his YouCaring goes "directly to the people" of Houston who are in need.

"Houston, stay strong. We're with you... We're going to do everything we can to make sure you guys get back on your feet however we can,” Watt said.

The Texans’ exhibition game on Thursday against the Dallas Cowboys was moved to Dallas because of the severe flooding in Houston. The Texans have been practicing in Dallas since this weekend.
