Yes, TaQuon Marshall’s first season as Georgia Tech’s quarterback has been an exercise in extremes.

Beginning with the beginning, as he emerged from the shadows in the spring to claim the starting job just before the opener. There would be tall, jagged peaks in performance. And multiple below-sea-level moments, like losing every road game. Even those occasionally came bundled with conflicting emotions, as in Saturday’s crushing loss at Duke when Marshall ran for 140 yards and crossed the 1,000-yard rushing threshold.

And yet, Marshall knows that beating the Bulldogs on Saturday would mean redemption.

The “Ramblin’ Wreck From Georgia Tech” is the school’s official fight song. It was adapted from an old English drinking song called “The Son of a Gambolier.” The lyrics boast of engineering prowess and whiskey consumption. And it manages to encapsulate a hatred of state rival Georgia Bulldogs.

The Jackets host the Bulldogs for the 112th edition of the “Clean, Old Fashioned Hate” rivalry.

The game will be televised LIVE on Channel 2 and broadcast on radio by WSB 750 AM and 95.5 FM. The game can also be heard on 680 AM and 93.7 FM.
