There are at least 2,147 deaths and 49,847 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Georgia

3 p.m.: The AJC is keeping track of reported coronavirus deaths and cases across Georgia according to the Department of Public Health. There are at least 2,147 deaths and 49,847 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Georgia.

12:30 p.m.: Several metro Atlanta restaurants have been cited by police and forced to temporarily close for violating the state's enhanced safety guidelines meant to slow the spread of COVID-19. Henri Hollis has the details.

Noon: 

Marietta will host a patriotic decorating contest in lieu of a 4th of July parade, Kristal Dixon reports
Residents, neighborhoods and businesses are encouraged to decorate their yards, windows and streets for the holiday.

11:30 a.m.: Many Georgians who lost their jobs due to the coronavirus pandemic and filed for unemployment payments have yet to see a cent, Matt Kempner and Christopher Quinn report.
