Where in Atlanta to watch Monday’s presidential debate

The first of three presidential debates between Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump is set for Monday night. Maybe you’re planning to watch it at home, lights dimmed, bowl of popcorn at the ready. But if you’d like to watch it among others out in the world, here are a few Atlanta options for where you can do that — including one viewing party that allows you to simultaneously watch the Falcons game.

Place: Gathering Spot, 384 Northyards Blvd. NW  Details: Mayor Kasim Reed will host the debate watch party.  Cost: Free with RSVP at mkratl59@gmail.com See the flyer.

Place: Manuel’s Tavern, 602 North Highland Ave NE Details: The debate will be broadcasted on every TV and played through the speakers. Get there early to secure a proper seat. Cost: Free, but guests are encouraged to eat and drink. See the Facebook page.

Place: Georgia State University, Urban Life building, 140 Decatur Street, #220  Details: The Multicultural Center will host debate watch parties and voter registration drives. Cost: Free See the event page.

Place: Stats, 300 Marietta St. Details: The event is a joint watch party for the Falcons-Saints Game and the first Presidential Debate of the season. Cost: Free with RSVP See the event page.

Place: BQE Restaurant & Lounge, 262 Edgewood Ave SE Details: There will be a pre-debate panel discussion. Cost: $25 or $50 donation.  See the event page.
