If you’re looking for an independent woman to fall in love with, Atlanta’s not a bad place to be.
In fact, the metro ranked second out the nation’s 100 largest cities for finding “Ms. Independent” — defined as a woman in her forties with at least a graduate degree and who works at least 40 hours a week — by Trulia, a mobile and online real estate resource.
Analysts at Trulia examined the nation’s 100 largest cities and looked specifically at the ratio of single men to single women, their age ranges, how many hours they typically work each week, education levels and whether they were previously married or not.
Because government data doesn’t have as much data on those seeking the same sex, Trulia analysts limited their research to those seeking the opposite sex. Trulia’s study also only includes adults at or over the age of 21.
After compiling the data, Trulia analysts put together personalized quizzes for those looking for a woman or a man and also listed the best cities to find ‘marriage material’ guys or your ‘Ms. Independent.’
A man with “marriage material” is defined as a man in his 30s with at least a college degree who works the standard 40 hours a week or more and has never been married.
