Anniversary of Zora Neale Hurston's birth celebrated on social media

Zora Neale Hurston was a folklorist, anthropologist, and author. On the 125th anniversary of acclaimed author Zora Neale Hurston's birthday, social media users take to Twitter to share their favorite photos and quotes from Hurston's writing.  Some celebs joined the conversation too.

A leading figure of the Harlem Renaissance of the 1920s, Hurston was born on this day 125 years ago, Jan. 7, 1891 in Notasulga, Alabama. She died in Fort Pierce, Florida in 1960.

Her classic 1937 novel, "Their Eyes Were Watching God," is required reading and the way most of her fans are first introduced to her writing.
