Fulton County residents can vote and get seasonal flu shots

Fulton County is making it easier to multi-task during the upcoming election.

Fulton is setting up flu clinics at several polling sites around the county as part of the national Vote & Vax program.

Voters can receive the vaccine after they cast their ballots. Or, they can just come to one of the clinics located at various polling sites and get the seasonal flu shot.

"We don't interfere with people's voting," said Claudia Zevallos, a spokeswoman for the Fulton County Human Services Department. "People can still use the flu shot clinic even if they're not voting there."

The shots costs $25, but insurance or Medicare may cover some or all of the cost. She said people will be on hand to let residents know what, if anything, they have to pay.

She said the clinics will target residents ages 50 and over, but that no one would be turned away.

The clinics will be at the following sites from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Oct. 29 and Oct. 30:

Fulton County Government Center, 141 Pryor Street; Adamsville Recreation Center, 3201 Martin Luther King Jr. Dr.; Fulton County South Service Center, 5600 Stonewall Tell Road, College Park; and the Fulton County North Service Center, 7741 Roswell Rd.

There will also be a Vote & Vax clinic from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Nov. 3 at the Dogwood Neighborhood Senior Center, 1953 Donald L. Hollowell Parkway.
