AUGUSTA — The Masters got off to a rousing start in Thursday’s first round, with defending champion Rory McIlroy claiming a share of the lead with a 5-under 67.

He’ll be one of the focal points Friday, when he’s in one of the last groups on the course, teeing off at 1:44 p.m. with Cameron Young and Thomasville amateur Mason Howell.

Sam Burns, the other first-round co-leader, tees off in the second round at 12:32 p.m., along with Cameron Smith and Jake Knapp.
