Atlanta United centerback Miles Robinson was arrested by the Cobb County Police Department on Saturday on a report of misdemeanor theft by taking, according to the arrest records.

Robinson, 25, posted a $150 bond. The arrested happened at PBR Atlanta at The Battery Atlanta. Robinson is alleged to have taken a shot of liquor from a waitress and declined to pay for it.

An Atlanta United representative issued this statement on behalf of the club: “We are aware of a recent misdemeanor arrest involving Miles Robinson. We are continuing to gather all information related to the incident and will not have further comment at this time.”

Robinson suffered an Achilles rupture against Chicago on May 7. He is out for the season. Robinson, who played at Syracuse, was drafted by the club in 2017.

Until he suffered his injury, Robinson was considered a lock to play for the U.S. men’s national team in the World Cup in Qatar in November. Robinson finished as one of the top five vote-getters for MLS Defender of the Year in 2021. He also served as a team captain this season. He was named to the MLS All-Star team in 2021 and the MLS Best XI in 2019 and 2021.

Atlanta United’s defense has struggled since his injury. The team (8-12-9) is unlikely to make the playoffs. It will host Toronto on Saturday at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
