Stacy Ndiwa wins AJC Peachtree Road Race women’s elite division
Stacy Ndiwa won The Atlanta Journal-Constitution Peachtree Road Race’s women’s elite division Thursday with a time of 31:12. Ndiwa, who is from Kenya, finished the race limping across the finish line.
Ndiwa, who was the women’s winner at the Los Angeles Marathon in March, has recorded a personal best of 31:01.
Here are a few postrace questions and answers from Ndiwa.
Q: You’re a back-to-back winner now. How does that feel?
A: It feels great, really good.
Q: How long have you been running professionally?
A: I’ve been running professionally since around 2018 so I ran things for about six years.
Q: Why did you choose the race in Atlanta this year?
A: Because I wanted to see whether I could come back and win again and see if I could get a better time.
