Bengals tight end C.J. Uzomah, who played at North Gwinnett High and Auburn, is trying to recover from a sprained MCL in his left knee suffered against Kansas City in the AFC title game.

He was carted off the field after the injury. The Bengals are set to play the Los Angeles Rams in Super Bowl LVI on Sunday at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California.

“I’m doing everything I can,” Uzomah said Monday. “I don’t really care too much about how I’m feeling. ... I’m not missing the biggest game of my life. Right? Like I’m not missing it. So, that’s my approach going into every day of rehab.”

The 6-foot-6, 260-pound Uzomah, who tore his right Achilles in 2020 and had a tough rehab process, caught 49 passes for 493 yards and five touchdowns in the 2021 regular season.

“I’m doing great,” Uzomah said. “I mean, I spent a lot of time with ... the (training) staff rehabbing this Achilles injury that I had last year. So, I kind of knew what I was getting into and what I was going to get out of hanging out with that staff.

“It’s been a grind. It’s been a lot of early mornings, late nights of just rehabbing and fighting through some stuff. But I feel really good.”
