Two men are arrested in the shooting death of 7-year-old Zoey Price in Atlanta. The girl was injured when gunfire struck the house where she and her mother were, on Feb. 24.

A 7-year-old girl was killed and her mother injured in a shooting in northwest Atlanta late Tuesday, according to police, who implored the suspect to turn himself in.

Firefighters were called around 10 p.m. Sunday to the Concord Crossing Apartments on Woodsong Way just outside Smyrna.

The suspect in the killing, identified as Christopher Ates, 39, was taken into custody by Houston County Sheriff’s Office deputies, officials there said Wednesday.

The gruesome beheading of a dog at a Fulton County home led to a SWAT standoff and the suspect’s eventual arrest Wednesday, officials said.

The baby’s blood-alcohol concentration was 0.179, about twice the legal limit for adults to have impaired driving, court records state.
